Digital Air's patented virtual camera movement process allows for the complete separation of the time-base of a virtual, moving point-of-view from the time-base of a subject.
While our original patents describe the Timetrack camera as a means of producing film-based virtual camera movement we have also been issued patents on the process of producing virtual camera movement using any array of cameras - and we have been issued patents on the product of the process (i.e.: the actual media produced by the process). For more detailed information on the intellectual property behind Timetrack please visit http://www.digitalair.com.
Timetrack visual effects cameras photograph scenes from an array of different points-of-view. If the entire array of images is recorded simultaneously the virtual camera appears to move relative to a subject which appears stopped in time. The process can also be used for the production of more complex visual effects than the frozen moment and can be used to produce virtual camera movement in realtime and interactive applications. For more information on our digital systems please visit our MOVIA web site, http://www.movia.com.
In addition to stopping time our film camera systems also have the ability of recording time progressing normally in a shot, or in slow-motion, or in fast-motion, or stopping and starting in the middle of a shot. They can also produce a variety of multiple and timed-exposure effects previously limited to the realm of still photography.
